Erected in 1833 on Favor Street, this building has the distinction of having been the first black church in the city of Rochester. Serving as the meeting grounds notable abolitionists such as Frederick Douglass, this church commanded national significance. Its basement was the original home of the North Star. Also known as: AME Zion Church.
