Description
One of the benefits of living in a city famous for its Film is the local Film and movie scene. Unfortunately, for a long time that meant going out for good movies, because there were no good rental places. About a year or two before April 2005, Global DVD opened up on Monroe Ave, to fill that hole. It was not a traditional video store like Blockbuster, and more like the local used CD exchange. Tucked away (and a bit hard to spot), it was located in one of the many houses-turned-store shops on the upper end of Monroe Ave. Unassuming racks of rare and hard to find videos, and no annoyingly bright colors, or mind-dulling previews running at top volume. If you were looking for art house, foreign, obscure, cult, horror or just plain good DVD's, Global DVD wass the first place to stop. That is, after you drove by it 2 times. Unfortunately, Global DVD closed as of June 2nd, 2007.
