Head of the Genesee is an annual crew regatta that takes place in Rochester. Since its inception in 1989, the regatta has attracted collegiate crew powerhouses such as Syracuse, Brown, William Smith, and Cornell. Prior to 2007, the event was managed by the crew teams of the University of Rochester and the Rochester Institute of Technology. The Regatta takes place each fall on the Genesee River coinciding with the City of Rochester's River Romance Weekend.
