The James P. Wilmot Cancer Center is part of Strong Memorial Hospital and Strong Health. Its namesake was a prominent Rochester businessman and philanthropist who originally created the foundation in 1980 to train physicians in cancer research and treatment. Consequently, the center provides cancer treatment, both surgical and medical, as well as clinical trials of new cancer treatments.
