- A Buffalo-based music store founded in 1976 by Rochester native Lenny Silver, Record Theatre eventually grew into a 21-store chain, with three stores in Rochester. The first and biggest of the three was the one at Midtown Plaza; the others were in Greece and Henrietta (the latter next to Club 747. The suburban stores were closed by 1997, while the Midtown store lasted another decade.
