Betty Meyer's Bullwinkle Cafe, commonly known as "Bullwinkle's" or "Bullwinkle's Cafe," was a bar tucked away on Lake Avenue that was basically only open for Betty's Sing-Along on Saturday nights mostly featuring popular standards from the 1900's. The place was packed with oddities such as a working (air-powered) nickelodeon. It was customary to grab a hat from her collection and wear it while you're there. According to a 2010-Feb-2 Craigslist posting, the 2,704 square-foot building (620 Lake Ave.) is being sold by First Realty Company. The building includes a "two bedroom apartment upstairs" and the sale "includes all furnishings and restaurant equipment located in the building". It was built in 1880. Elizabeth "Betty" Meyer died on November 6, 2013 at age 90.
According to her obituary, she was predeceaed by her husband, Raymond Johnson and was a graduate of the Eastman School of Music.
