Description: A jar of Boss Sauce. Boss Sauce is a sweet and spicy sauce that is made in Rochester by American Specialty Manufacturing, Inc. It is somewhat similar to Country Sweet sauce, which is also locally produced. The sauce was created by Eddie Harris, the owner of American Specialty Manufacturing, Inc., and was based on a family recipe. It was originally served at Eddie's Chicken Coop, which opened in 1981 and was located on Portland Avenue. Several area restaurants serve wings with boss sauce, sometimes referred to as "Rochester Style". It can be purchased online, as well as from local retailers such as Wegmans.
