Members of the Dipset gang have been linked to and charged with virtually every conceivable offense in our city, from drug dealing through homicide. According to the media, the main body of the gang mainly consists of teenagers, which coincidentally is the main demographic involved in Auto Theft in our city, though the average age of core members is widely disputed. The gang's name is said to stem from The Diplomats' hit song "Dipset Anthem."
While during its heyday Dipset was acknowledged by law enforcement as being one of the largest gangs in our area, the Rochester Police Department now consider this gang to have been for the most part dismantled.
