Grove Street Flats is a planned rental unit in between the recently built Grove Street Townhouses and Halo Lofts. The "silver" building is a former church which has been converted into 12 student housing units. They are targeted towards Eastman School of Music graduate and doctoral students seeking a multi-roommate setting off-campus, but with the modern amenities (such as broadband access) now expected in college dorms.
It was expected to open in Fall 2008 but was still listed as planned in the Rochester strategic Center City Development document dated March 4, 2009.
