- The following are suggestions for a format and process for taking the raw list of local not for profit domains and turning them into pages on ROCwiki. These are only suggestions based on what I think would be useful. Process grab a batch of links edit the batch to identify your self (so others know you "own" that batch) for each link: visit the web site and ... try to identify the actual name of the organization note if the site redirects you to another URL (which presumably is their preferred URL) identify what the group does try to classify the group (some groups may exist in multiple classes) creating a page for the web site by ... creating (if it doesn't already exist) a page for each class the organization is in, linking to the organization's actual name creating a page based on the organization's actual name that identifies basic information about the organization and that provides a link to the organization's preferred URL. That page should include ... a neutral description (ideally using words likely to be found by a full-text search) a list of other names the organization operates under links back to the class pages a section for comments about the organization links to anything else relevant on ROCwiki related to the organization I'd suggest not predefining the class pages and instead let them be created as needed. So for example while you can imagine one generic class might be "Health Care," I wouldn't create it until it's actually needed. And when a class page is created, it should be done so only if an existing class page doesn't really capture the class. Format Some kind of template is suggested, but the form of that template probably isn't going to be apparent until people tackle a few links to find the common things most organizations have. Otherness GGW would appreciate sites on GGW having a link to the Genesee Gateway ROCwiki page. It isn't required, but it helps us get our name out there.
