Description: Informational placard currently attached to the front. Enlarge thumbnail to read. The North Washington Rowhouses are a pair of two-story rowhouses in the Cascade District downtown. They are the only surviving example of the rowhouses built in Rochester during this period and are believed to be located on the original Hundred Acre Tract purchased by Nathaniel Rochester in 1803. Stylistically, they are Greek Revival with Federal features. This type of building was popular in the Northeast at this time but very rare locally. They were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. As of March 2014, the Washington Street Rowhouses are for sale.
