Pasta Andiamo

Food & Drink

Pasta Andiamo changed hands sometime early 2005. This restaurant served lunch and dinner. They had the best crabcake sandwich ever (one of my friends who ate there now compares every crab cake sandwich to this one and none has been on par to it). This sandwich was available on their lunch menu and the crabcakes were available as an appetizer on the dinner menu.

The Penne Vodka was the perfect marriage of sweet, tang and a bit of spice. The fried calamari was also highly recommended by several diners. Wednesday nights were create your own pasta nights. Everyone who had eaten there has only had positive things to say.

It was family owned and the chef was accommodating. Prices range from $7-$12 for dinner. The only slight drawback was that they do not have a liquor license but feel free to bring your own liquor - it was entirely worth it. It was a small restaurant so reservations are recommended for big parties.

This was truly a hidden gem. This was my favorite Italian restaurant in the Rochester area, hands down. Check it out. The owner planned to reopen in a larger building in or near Brighton after taking some time off.

I do not know if he plans on reopening with the same name or not. The owner went on to operate Cafe_89, which closed in early 2010.
